Fact you need to know about Chevrolet's emblem

When I browsed and commented on Paul Tan's entry on "CONFIRMED : DRB-HICOM and Chevrolet part ways" (http://paultan.org/), there was an issue on Chevy's emblem.

Some say it's a cross, made some muslims in Malaysia refuse to purchase and park the Chevy in their carporch.

And some say it's a bowtie, except the color is gold (instead of black).

My impression : Haiyoo..Which one is true??

Here's the fact:

• Did you know that Chevrolet emblem is actually a design of bowtie? (many claims it was a cross, make some muslims feel offended)
  
• The emblem was designed by William C. Durant, co-founder of Chevrolet Motor Car Company in 1913.


• Do you know where he got the idea? From a hotel wallpaper in Paris!


• The design for the emblem never change until today! See the first ad of Chevrolet in Washington Post for the October 2, 1913:

Hope this will clear all the speculations on this innocent emblem.

Incident at Piala Emas Raja-Raja '09 : Another hooligans in the making?

This is definely not something we should be proud of being a Malaysian:

It was the final of Piala Emas Raja-Raja '09,held on 27th December '09 at Stadium DarulAman, Kedah.

What happened?

• Fans of Kedah football team are throwing firecrackers, burning out the stadium seats, storming into the field at near-end of the match
• Happened due to red card penalty given to Fazliata Taib (Kedah) for swinging his magnificent punch towards the opponents at minute 85


• The match ended with the result of 2-0, won by the opponent, which is Perlis football team.


• The Royal Highness Sultan Kedah (with The Princess, if i'm not mistaken) also was there, expecting to enjoy the match that night, ended up seeing "football disaster" of the year, in their very own ground!

My impression : Haiyoo..didn't they go to school??

Remember what happened on Piala Malaysia '09, the unforgetable match between Kelantan & N.Sembilan?

Kelantan fans was unofficially labeled "The Most Violent Fans In Malaysia" due to the incident happened on that time. Seats burned, firecrackers, smoke bombs, even blood..Gosh! It was hell-of-a-riots!

My question here : Who should be blamed?

From the trusted source, Persatuan BolaSepak Melayu Malaysia (Malaysia Malay Football Association, or PBSMM) seems is blamed and required to explain regarding to the incident.

What? How the heck PBSMM going to control all those fanatic hooligans if they hide all those explosives inside their underpants? Even airport security will be fooled by that!

Personally, I blamed the fans themselves. No offence, some fans are well-behaved, or at least professional in what they love. I'm talking about "monyet-monyet" that don't even know how the game is really managed.

Countermeasure? Simple : Educate or Punish. Your decision anyway.

Hope our football scene won't end up like what happened in Italia Serie A few years back, where 5 or more rows of seats near the field is prohibited for all fans, plus security with real guns patrolling in every corner of spectator area.

Disney is buying Marvel ??

Caught my attention this morning..:

Now, as Disney prepares to buy the comic-book powerhouse Marvel, it faces the question of whether fans will also get attached to characters as obscure as Ant-Man and Iron Fist.

My impression : Wow....what's next??

Being a entertainment freak since I was born, this news bring quite a shock to me.
To me, Disney and Marvel carry two different perception.

Disney : Cute, Cuddly, Lovely, muahmuahmuah kinda characters
Marvel : Extreme, Cool, Heroic, kill-em-all kinda stuffs

Let's consider this equation (if you are willing to consider :-))

Disney = Mickey Mouse
Marvel = Iron Man

Disney + Marvel
= Mickey Mouse + Iron Man
= Iron Mickey / Mouse Man ??
= Mickey Man / Iron Mouse ??

What the heck??

I hope guys at Disney won't be doing some crazy stuff like that,
or else it gonna end up on PS3 video game shelves all over the world.
(Hannah Montana VS Hulk ? Nah..children will freak out for sure!!)

The blog title says it. I'm Mr Leedy (or some Malaysian friends just pronounced "Lidi")
I'm not as thin as what the character looks like. In fact, I'm weight 75kg! (kinda fatty to some eyes though..)
